American Airlines Vacations Rated Worst Airline RIPOFF
Our Mistake:
We booked a vacation with AA Vacations.  We chose the Plaza Hotel on Bonaire because AAVacations.com stated that there was "in room high speed internet access." Something we needed for work.

How American Airlines Vacations Ruined Our Vacation::
There was no internet access in the room.  We consulted the hotel in the morning and were informed that their IT person would not be available for 5 days and that even if he could give us internet access there would be a $50 installation charge, a $1 per minute usage charge and it would be extremely slow (their own words).

We spent the next day searching for alternative lodging, checked out of The Plaza and moved into Captain Don’s Habitat.  Since The Plaza was giving us trouble about checking out early, the following day I called to confirm that we were checked out.  I also called American Airlines’ local office which said to call AA Vacations.  I called AA Vacations and was transferred around for quite a while.  They were discourteous and unhelpful as usual.  I was finally informed that the office I needed to speak to was closed.  Dead end.

By this time I’d wasted the first few days of my vacation.  We had to pay $2000 for alternate lodging due to last minute arrangements.  Hours of international phone charges, wasted energy and frustration.  If this sounds like fun and relaxation to you, then book your next vacation with American Airlines.

The American Airlines Vacation Aftermath:
AA Vacations charged us for the entire vacation.  Even the days AFTER we checked out of The Plaza.  We disputed and here is the reply.  Perhaps they should change their slogan:  So what if we lied on the website?  You're only a consumer and we've got your money... sucker.

The American Airlines Vacation Nightmare Continues:
I've rewritten to the following: aacacations, aadvantage, customer relations, Ceo Gerald J. Arpey, Vp of Marketing Daniel P. Garton, CFO Thomas W. Horton, SVP of Caribbean Peter J. Dolara, SVP customer Service Ralph L. Richardi at 4333 Amon Carter Blvd, Fort Worth TX 76155

12/25/06 - received a reply from Marilyn K. McKee, "customer care specialist".  Apparently AAVacations cannot accept the loss due to fraudulent information on their own website so they have decided to pass the loss on to their consumer.  Click here for the actual letter.

Will keep you updated on our nightmare.
